Farmers' anger has infected a bit of everyone in Europe and is being felt everywhere. From Rome to the Ukrainian borders in Poland. In the U.S., however, there are no protests. Perhaps it is because politics there has realized that agriculture is sovereignty. Last week in Belgium and the Netherlands the ports of Antwerp and Zebbrugge were even blocked. In Poland, farmers remain on the warpath and are ready for striking actions at the borders. The trade union Solidarnosc wrote in a note that "the position of the EU is unacceptable and our patience is over." Among the main issues challenged to the EU is the import of poultry from Kiev. In Germany, farmers were granted a tax exemption on diesel fuel. And in France the government has made promises. We will see what happens.
