The Spanish People's Party has signed up three Ciudadanos MEPs to join its list for the European elections in June. Adrián Vázquez Lázara, Susana Solís and Eva María Poptcheva will take part of the PP lists for the upcoming european elections. In an interview on Onda Cero, the secretary general of the Partido Popular, Cuca Gamarra, confirmed the move to incorporate "more people, plural people. People who have done things well in defence of the rule of law". "The PP and Feijóo have the obligation to give Spaniards hope", she continued. A few hours later, the PP leader confirmed on X that the philosopher Fernando Savater will close his list for the EU elections. "He is an authoritative voice with a biography committed to the defence of democratic values. It is time to unite, outside and inside politics. In the streets and at the ballot box. For equality and freedoms", said Feijóo on the same social network.

"Today, the PP is the only political alternative capable of rebuilding our civic and constitutional coexistence, and I proudly announce that I will run on its lists for the European Parliament to contribute to that goal", confirmed this morning on the social network X the MEP and President of Legal Affairs of the European Parliament, Adrián Vázquez, who took the opportunity to thank Alberto Núñez Feijóo for his confidence. The PP, however, still has a question mark over who will head its list for the elections, something that must be revealed before Monday 6 May. Dolors Montserrat, now PP spokesperson in the European Parliament and head of the list in the last elections of 2019, is the favourite in the pools, although Génova has avoided confirming whether she will finally be elected. For the moment, this latest move confirms the attractiveness of Génova in the ranks of the liberal party.

Adrián Vázquez Lázara was an important figure in the orange party. The former secretary general of Ciudadanos has taken this decision after taking a step away from his former party, which he tried unsuccessfully to integrate into Genova. Now, a month later, he has just confirmed his move to the PP. "At a critical moment for our democracy, we have to be on the side of the defence of the rule of law and the founding values of the Union," he said. Spain currently has 61 seats in the EU Parliament, out of a total of 705. The European People's Party currently has 177 seats and the Ciudadanos MEPs belong to the European Parliament's Renew liberal group, which has a total of 102 MEPs.

Eva Maria Poptcheva has so far been Vice-Chair of Parliament's Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee and has been involved in several reports on anti-money laundering directives and the subsequent creation of the anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing authority.

Susana Solís is the Vice-President for relations with South Korea and has two reports as rapporteur, one of which focused on the promotion of gender equality.
